The most common type of stress ball in the United States is the "bean bag" type, commonly known as the "hacky sack". The most common in Australia is the foam type, which relieves the stress of resistance when squeezing the ball. Chinese-shaped bullets are known as  Baoding bullets. Stress balls, especially those used in physiotherapy, may contain gels of varying densities in the skin of rubber or cloth. Another type uses a thin rubber film that surrounds the fine powder.
